This essay is divided into two sections, the past and current brotherhoods, for each brotherhood Antonio explains their origins, the saints protectors and religious rites.

My key reading is based on the principle that this review won't summarise each brotherhood but only those where in their respective churches there are frescoes or paintings.

Past Brotherhoods

- La Confraternita del SS.mo Sacramento di San Benigno

For this brotherhood there are two churches, St Chiara (Clare) and St Filippo (Philip)

Baroque architecture, consecrated the middle of the eighteenth century and St. Philip, the most beautiful church of Ripatransone, which is rich of sculptures and paintings.

St. Philip's Church (Essay)

- La Confraternita del Carmine

In this church (XVI Century) there is a fresco of De Magistris' brothers, it tells the deposition of Christ.

- Current Brotherhoods

La Confraternita della Misericodia e Morte

In this church there is the Universal Judgment, a series of sculptures of Tapia Radic.
Their activity is the transportation of the deceased.
The particularity is they worship for the Death Christ.
During the good friday there is a nocturnal procession with the partecipation of all the brotherhoods of Ripatransone, and in particular the coffin of Dead Christ.

La Confraternita della Madonna di San Giovanni

This is one of the most ancient brotherhoods of the city of Ripatransone, dating back to the XVI Century, their institutional headquarter is at the Cathedral of Ripatransone where there are a wooden crucifix donated to the city by the Pope Pius V in the 1571, a painting of Orazio Gentileschi who painted the Madonna with child and angels, Mary Magdalene, St. Gregory Magno and St. Charles Borromeo (Alessandro Turchi XVII Century) and the Simulacrum of the St. John's Madonna (XVII Century)

Cathedral - St. Mary Magdalene Photos (Orazio Gentileschi)

Conclusion

In this review I summarised only four brotherhoods with their churches rich of art and sculptures, for a complete knowledge the reader must consult this essay, available at the local tourist office but for a proving some emotions a must is observing the nocturnal procession (good friday at 9.00 pm in front of the cathedral)

Madonna and Child, Saint Martin, Saint Anthony Abbot By: Vittore Crivelli

In the middle of this triptych there is the Madonna with her child in the act of blessing. The Madonna' s face is melancholic as she senses the end of her child will meet. The child holds a goldfinch, an angel with a sword and another one with crossed hands. Behind them a cane holds a cloth with a pomegranate and an apple hanging from it. Respectively they represents the church and the original sin. On the left there is Saint Martin bishop, in one hand he holds a finely bound hardback book with a model of a village with towers and crenelled walls. On the right there is Saint Antonio Abbott bishop who holds a book and a little bell. Above this triptych there is The Piety with tree Cherubini invented on collecting the blood of Christ. On the left there is the Madonna, on the right a praying Saint. At the feet of Christ there is Mary Magdalene. In the background a landscape. .
