La Mia Città (Renata De Angelis)

                                         Acquerello Di: Eugenio Cellini

Come sovrana priva dei suoi beni

la mia città un tempo assai famosa

chaimata "Propugnaculum Piceni"

conserva la sua aria dignitosa.

S'erge su cinwue colli e da ogni altura

guarda il suo mare, i monti e le vallate.

Ha torrioni, palazzi, antiche mura

che testimoniano le glorie passate.

E' silenziosa ma, come per magia,

parla ancora a chi la sa ascoltare;

ogni sua piazza, ogni sua stretta via

ha qualcosa da narrare.

So che la storia di Ripatransone

può sembrare fantastica, ma è vera;

parla di antiche gesta, di ogni rione,

di Virginia, di Donna Bianca fiera.

Parla Pure di nobili casate

da cui discesero bravi condottieri,

di lotte, di sconfitte sopportate

dagli abitanti impavidi di ieri..

Qui vissero artisti e letterati,

spiriti eroici, nobili talenti;

nei vicoli e nei corsi son passati

e a lor son dedicati i monumenti.

Qui nacquero Consorti e Mercantini

che alla città diedero lustro e onore

col lavoro manuale tra i bambini

e con gli scritti che toccano il cuore.

Una vaga tristezza ora mi assale

quando penso ai vari uffici chiusi,

al vecchio seminario, all' ospedale

da pochi anni adibito a nuovi usi.

E provo pure un pò di nostalgia

nell' osservar le tante chiese vuote,

nel ricordar tanta gente pia

che dell'organo seguivano le note.

Ripatransone si anima d'estate;

essa attira turisti e forestieri,

e le cose che vengono ammirate

fanno pensare alla città di ieri.
