Description
The theme of this painting is the last dinner of Jesus before being betrayed, he looks at the table and shows the future stigmata, he has long hair and a beard.
Saint Peter is talking to Jesus, he will thank him for three consecutive times, on the night of the arrest.
The man seated on the wooden stool is Judas Iscariot, who looks at Jesus with contempt.
In his hand he has the bag containing thirty silver coins for having betrayed him.
On the stool there is a sheet of paper on which there is a signature.
Noteworthy to the apostles are the two characters probably two observers on the far right of the painting.
The dog symbolizes fidelity while the cat symbolizes betrayal.
The table is laden with food and drink, there is the roast leg, the loaves of bread one of which is partially sliced, an allusion to the bread broken by the Lord.
