Una Filza Di Parole (Poesie e Sonetti In Lingua Dialettale di Ripatransone
205 Pagine - 1999- Gianni Maroni Editore
This sonnet was written in date 31 December 1996 at 11 PM and there is a strong relationship between the clock and the time.
In this sonnet we feel the sensation of his inner voice, which praises him for having marked time for seven centuries, men women are now dead, but every generation looks at it as an ancient sentinel.
This clock is fascinating because it has been a witness of the past and it will for the future.
Every hour and quarter of hour, the local population listen to its voice, it is of a grave tone, remembering to the poor rich that a quarter of hour has gone forever.
This imply a reasoning on our existences and how we have used our time.
In the past time, its sound was carefully listened to by the people, and by the primary school because it was the only clock for the entire population.
The last line tells us that this clock should give us, the courage for the future and use the time for a noble purpose.
