Description:
In the first stanza the poet is walking on a quiet street, located in the countryside, known as St. Joseph (San Giuseppe), with a church and a few houses on the way to his beloved Ripatransone, after trees and green vegetation, his senses are captured by the Badlands.
They are similar to rooster combs, with its coral colors, they are high and daring, which have been eroded by the flow of water, giving to them, their particular form.
With the use of fantasy, they can be the crown of the king of Ripatransone, and the spiers of a Gothic church both are sharp tall and pointy.
