The thurible together with the nacelle  is part of the incensing service belonging to the sanctuary of Madonna di San Giovanni. 

This censer has the shape of a "Flamboyant Vase" decorated with ribbed elements, like a ribbon with leaves. 

The shape and character of the decorations assign it to the Roman production of the first half of the seventeenth century.
