Duomo, Ripatransone
Description:
In this altarpiece it's narrated a conversation between the enthroned Madonna with her child with St. John the Baptist on the left, with his main attribute, the cartouche attached on a wooden stick, partially covered by a red tunic, who looks at the infant Jesus, sitting on Our Lady's knees, while Our Lady looks at Saint Francis of Assisi with his arms crossed, as if he were mimicking the cross where Jesus Christ will then be crucified, Above them there are two angels, who are placing the crown on the head of the Madonna.
The entire scene is lighted by the divine light, that pierce the clouds.
