Description:
The scene is taken from the apocryphal gospels, it tells the story of the Holy Family returning from Egypt.
The setting is rural, in the background there is an ancient temple with towers, a river and hills.
The Madonna is with her son Baby Jesus, who whispers something to St. John the Baptist, who is wearing a camel fur.
Behind the hedge there is St. Joseph, dressed in yellow and with the classic stick with the bundle, watches his family attentively.
