San Ginesio (MC), Collegiata Santa Maria Annunziata
Jesus is walking with difficulty because of the cross on his shoulders, in the company of two others condemned to crucifixion.
Around him there is no solidarity or understanding but a triad of torturers and characters indifferent to his martyrdom and mocked by some Roman soldiers.
On the right there is a soldier who tries to straighten the cross by resting his foot on the body of Jesus. In front of the cross there are two soldiers who are pulling the cross with a rope.
On Jesus' head there is the crown of thorns, he has a purple robe.
There are three horses, one white and one black and one brown with flags.
There are many men with turbans, certainly oriental, and a great variety of weapons.
The two thieves have bare backs and are tied with a rope, and are being pulled by an enigmatic character.
In the background there is a forest and a rock with a blue sky.
